[ Ludger has escaped the bowels of the kitchen! and wish research (for now)! which means he's lingering on the path near the Central Area, looking at the wishing tree from a distance, turning the slip that blew at him over and over in his hands. ]
... You know, it's almost pretty, if you ignore the whole atmosphere that's going on.
[ A long time ago, Anaxagoras used to watch the sky when he was young. A fondness that remains instilled within him, even though their situation trended towards a matter of...well, great difficulty.
Nostalgia is a hard sentiment to shake nonetheless. ]
If only, hm?
I used to gaze up at the sky at night and treasure what I would see when the stars illuminated it all above. Even when knowing that it wasn't necessarily 'true' what I witnessed, just the same.
It is ironic that here in some manner it ends up similar...though, I suppose it's different now, with us able to see a bit further.
It wasn't 'true'? You mean like what happened here?
[ with the whole, Magi hiding her body away from their eyes. ]
... You couldn't really see the stars in Trigleph - there's too much light pollution, and the skies were never clear. And going out into the wilds was dangerous, given the terrain and the roaming monsters. But - Fennmont has almost eternal night, due to the concentration of dark mana there. The stars there made me understand all the stories and songs about how beautiful the night could be.
[ he sighs ]
It's almost too bad the mana levels are evening out. But that's just how it goes, right?
[ nothing lasts forever. but instead of voicing that Even More Depressing though, Ludger waves a wish tag in Anaxa's direction. ]
So! What's a dromas and why do they deserve a thousand paintings?
Like this realm, Amphoreus had a false sky - though it in essence was also not anchored in space like a true world in of itself, either.
And I suppose there was the nature of that Titan in the sky as well, but it was different in nature from Magi.
[ So...various similarities indeed, though not wholly the same, even if close in some manner! Also, on the other matter, even if Ludger voices his sadness, Anaxagoras is still curious about the subject to slip in one question in there, because it sounds interesting to him: ]
"Mana" is a form of energy or natural phenomenon, I take it?
...But, as for your question, a dromas is a lizard-like species that originates from Amphoreus; the horns on my head that one week were indicative of dromas.
Dromas are large, capable of much in terms of learning, and are peaceful creatures. I could always draw a picture of them, but even with my own depiction in mind, there is much to be lost by someone who has never so much has gazed properly upon their magnificence!
Mana is... pretty much the energy of life, from what I understand? Everyone has their own inherent mana, but there are people who can produce excess amounts. And then there are spirits - beings made of mana that most people can't see. As they live, they continuously shed their energy into the environment, which revitalizes the land. In places, certain types of mana can build up and have greater physical effects - Bermia Gorge is high in wind mana, so it's always windy.
[ he's pretty sure he remembered Jude's lectures correctly... ]
They sound amazing... And they're peaceful? That's adorable.
That sounds rather fascinating. Both the matter of mana and the spirits themselves - as well as the environmental effects. Amphoreus has its own quirks, but nothing quite like that, exactly.
If there is a place with perpetual wind, I wonder if there is one wherein an abundance of flowers, or perhaps even rain.
[ Just mulling over this, a bit more excited and enthusiastic because all the while he's thinking of DROMAS! He's low-key about to hop to his feet about it, because he is just cringe with his obsession of anything related to Dromas, as usual. ]
I knew you'd understand the appeal of a dromas, without even laying an eye upon them. [ Actually, debatable. ] Nothing truly can compare to such a fine example of a giant, marvelous lizard species! Once you've seen a dromas, not even a dragon can compare! You can even ride them places.
There must be, though I haven't seen them myself. I think the area with high water mana concentration is... a beach?
[ which like, yeah, he guess it fits, but it also misses the mark. still though, his nitpicking is less important (and less amusing) than Anaxa's enthusiasm over the gentle(?) giants... ]
You really like them, huh? They sound pretty cool! Is it hard keeping up with their stomachs? I know horses eat a lot...
[ Something about a beach holding high water mana concentration does only feel natural. Misses the mark but fits just enough. But, more importantly, dromas!
Unsurprisingly, Anaxagoras is here to continue to talk happily on them all day long. Like he's about to leap to his feat and run around. ]
I have adored such creatures ever since I could remember glimpsing upon their majestic and sturdy form! Oh, but you are very correct that feeding them peanuts just would not do. They prefer red soil, and in large chunks, at that. I'd say they even eat far more than horses do - but given that they grow to be eventually larger than a horse, it's only natural.
...Granted I haven't been in a position to take care of one for awhile [ but he does wish for one in the future, yet feeding it won't be a problem ], but there was a dedicated area for the dromas in Ohkhema.
