[ with Anaxagoras agreeing to some soup, Ludger will fold the dough one more time before covering it, letting it rest. grabbing a towel, he'll wipe his hands as he heads over to the refrigerator, sleeves riding up a bit to flash some cute little bandaids in the crook of his elbows. ]
They're going to be danishes with either fruit fillings or something more savory. Maybe tomatoes or peppers.
[ it isn't until he's hauling the almost full pot of "leftover" soup out that he realizes Anaxa might have meant something a little different. ]
... Oh, the soup is chicken noodle. It felt appropriate given the weather.
[ Did Ludger end up injuring himself at some point? He kind of looks at that for a moment and then peering back on over at the refrigerator.
Danishes with chicken noodle soup? Well, he's had stranger combinations. ]
Chicken noodle soup?
I'm not particularly picky about my food.
[ Unless it's something extremely bitter and even then he'll probably be fine with it. He will continue to patiently wait for Ludger to set things up, as it were, and then ask: ]
Did you manage to hurt yourself while preparing food?
[ medicine and research were never fields Ludger had any interest in, and so now, it's out of his hands. with that, Ludger will set down the bowl for Anaxa, and pass him a spoon ]
Have you been helping them out? Sounds like you have a few ideas.
[ Not a statement he'd normally use, but the sentiment is undeniably understandable.
At Ludger's question, Anaxagoras supposes that it isn't wrong to inquire as he gives a bit of a nod after more concrete contemplation. ]
...I have in some ways. In that I've been trying to supplement any potential holes in knowledge here or there - or also add my own to theirs, wherever possible.
As their minds are fellow intellectuals, it tends to be easy to do a little back and forth. However, nothing quite concrete has been established as of yet, and I suspect that having additional input from the rest of everyone else will ultimately also assist in these endeavors.
[ as Anaxagoras explains his collaboration, Ludger listens, thoughtful, then rueful. ]
Times like this make me wish I'd continued with my education past the requirements for graduation. I've told them about what I've experienced here, and some of the things that remind me of home. But there's a lot about why things happen, or where to look for answers that I miss. You, Alhaitham, Maomao, McGillis, Julius, Katan - you all really know how to use your heads.
[ his lips quirk up a bit at the end. ]
Anyways, if you need a hand with anything, let me know - I'll always at least try to help out.
I certainly will. But before I go further on that note, keep in mind this:
Everyone has their blindspots.
[ Anaxagoras chides, lightly. He is an individual who persistently searches for answers, because that is who he is - it helps supplement at times his own current collection of knowledge.
But, he is by no means perfect. Even he too forgets the lessons he has learned, and needs reminders. ]
I too miss things, just like anyone else. I am by no means a man who has become representation of the perfected learn man. You will eventually see things that I do not, and I will see things you do not. That is not a failing on either of our parts. It is simply what it means to be human.
That being said, in regards to what I need a hand with most...it would be more eyes on this place in general. Including new places that do need scrutiny. The Reptile House, for one, due to some obviously odd elements about it.
[ at the lecture, Ludger can't help but smile. it is not a failing - it is simply what it means to be human. ]
... You're a pretty nice guy, Anaxagoras.
[ Ludger knows humanity by what they carry, and by the choices they can make. if he could reframe his perspective... ah, but really, isn't it a little late for that? ]
All the living creatures, right? It is strange, but I'll be honest - I've got my eye on the museum. There has to be a way in there, right?
That might become a tagline of his while he is here. But, at least it seems Ludger doesn't mind. He frowns and crosses his arms when he points out that aspect, though. ]
Not always.
[ He doesn't seem angry about it, he is just being himself as always; the statement is true. He's the kind of person who cares. ]
...I would assume there'd be a way inside. But the how is honestly beyond me. I haven't tried as of yet, however.
It could take bruteforce, or simply just finding a hidden passage inside.

[ he chuckles. yeah, he's heard that one before. though, at the question... ]
No, it's nothing like that. I just donated some blood to Foxglove and Sage for studying.
[ Ludger shrugs, and extends an arm in Anaxa's direction, the cartoon whales on the bandaid smiling cheerfully at him. ]
Honestly, I forgot about them - I could have taken it off yesterday.

[ ...Anaxagoras himself has made decisions along the line of Ludger's, so maybe it isn't surprising he exclaims at hearing this. ]
...As they know what they're clearly doing, I have no doubts that they took as much as needed. Otherwise you wouldn't be standing as you are now.
Though, did you come up with the idea yourself?
[ He will count the whales to determine the precise amount required to have covered that arm properly. ]
no subject
Yeah. I... was thinking about how the infection might progress. I figured they might be able to track it if they had something to compare it to. So.
[ he shrugs and takes his arm back, before turning to dish up some (now hot) soup ]
It might not mean anything if I start transforming all of a sudden, but it's something, right? Anyways, do you want to eat in here?
no subject
[ Anaxagoras considers this as well, only because he is thinking of a lighter outcome too. Slightly optimistic, but perhaps realistic as well.
After saying this, he looks at the soup. ]
Whatever the case, it is indeed something. As for location, we're already here, so eating here will do.

I bet the hidden passage is linked to the well. It's just too mysterious to not have everything linked back to it.

[ Anaxagoras suddenly has his thinking cap on, right about now. ]
The problem is getting to the bottom of it.
[ Such is the nature of finding answers. But, maybe there can be something to be checked there as well...he has so many thoughts right now. ]

After all, I already swam in it previously.
[ He is saying this with a little huff.
Sorry to say Ludger that barely five seconds into the initial week Anaxagoras leapt in. ]
